We have been in our house for ten years.  The kitchen was the first room that we painted a month after moving in. While my friends and most of my family still liked the red and thought I was out of my mind for wanting to paint it again I went for it.  It was difficult because I had to match the color to the eat-in area and family room, however I wanted a little more of a creamy gold instead of a beige.  Sooooo after fifty thousand or so non matching paint swatches I finally found one that matched and started painting.   While I loved the new paint color, I still felt a couple changes were in need so I added a pot rack I got at GW for $10.00 and a new desk chair that I found at Ross.

Here are a few of the before pictures.

Some of the paint swatches

I didn't realize how much was on top of the cabinets

I forgot what a mess painting a kitchen can be

Behr paint and primer in one is the best paint.
It only took one coat to cover the red.
That is a great man on that ladder :)

Now onto project number....  too many to count.

Hope you have fun with your next project, no matter how large or small.

  9. What a great color! (I can say that, because it is similar to a color my kitchen was painted - but I recently changed to a burgandy!)Amazing what paint can do - and I also have used the Behr Paint & Primer - love it. Such a charming kitchen. Coming over from Marty's party and I am thrilled to be a new follower! Jane

  10. I really like your new paint color in the kitchen. It brightens up the kitchen nicely. Love your new desk chair as well.

  12. Wow, what a wonderful job you did in this transformation! Your kitchen looks so pretty! Thank you for sharing at TTF. Have a fantastic weekend!

  13. Absolutely gorgeous! I LOVE the new color! Really makes the room look so modern and fresh. I think white cabinets would be stunning! I love the peek of white on the island--that just looks so crisp and bright and pretty. I'd go for the white cabinets if I were you! But I am a sucker for a white kitchen, so I guess I'm biased.

    1. I think one of these days in the nearby future this kitchen will be white :)

  14. wonderful color choice. Sometimes the change of color really changes the whole feel of the room. Love it! Thank you for joining in the fun at the Thursday Favorite Things hop. Happy Tuesday wishes xo P.S. sorry I'm so late visiting :-)
