RECYCLED SWEATER

My mom gave me a sweater. It was SUPER comfy. I mean one of those sweaters that makes you feel all warm and cozy when you wear it. I liked everything about it BUT the bottom. The front was cut shorter than the back. That really bugged me. I didn't think it was very attractive looking on or off. I did like the sweater itself so I thought I would make a pillow cover out of it. I used buttons to close the end and allow it to be easily removed for washing. When I cut the body out to use as a pillow I was left with the top and sleeves. Having seen some really cute leg warmers lately I decided to make some out of the sleeves. I can't believe how warm and comfortable they are with my boots.

Hope you are having a fun crafting kind of day.
Lisa

    1. Actually no. I was very gentle with it and tried to move it as little as possible with the exception of sewing it in the machine.

  7. My husband's grandmother just passed away. I requested that inherit her blue cardigan sweater with cardinals on it. She almost always wore it as we celebrated Christmases with her. I have had this same idea, to make a pillow from it. Thank you for the I inspiration. I am also considering cardinal leg warmers!?!?!

    1. I love the idea of making a pillow as a memorial of your husband's grandmother. If you do, I'd love to see it all finished.

  8. Wow Lisa! What a wonderful idea to also use the scraps for something! I know my daughter would LOVE these... surprising that leg warmers are back (I remember them way back in the 80's!). What a beautiful pillow it made too!

  10. What a beautiful pillow you've created out of a sweater--it's super pretty and perfect for the colder months. I also really like the photo you used in your blog header--such a pretty country road! It was so nice to hear from you over at my blog--glad you enjoyed the chalkboard tv cover, and glad that it gave you ideas for your tv :)

  11. A very creative solution. I don't care for that style either ( short in front long in back). Now every time you see that lovely pillow you will think of your Mothers sweet gift.Thank you for sharing at the Thursday Favorite Things hop. Wishing you a happy weekend. xo
