I bought this picture from Gabriel Brothers the other day.  I loved the frame and matting but hated the print.  Well, for 5.99 I figured it was worth it so I bought it.  I had no idea what to do with it.  After some thought I decided to put our last name initial in it.  I took it apart and added some scrapbook paper over the print and then used my Cricut to cut out some thin cardboard and then painted it with two different brown inks and one black.  Then I added some copper embossing powder to give it a metallic look.  I'm pleased with it but now have NO idea where to put it.  I guess I'll figure that out today.

Hope you have a fun project to work on today.  Enjoy,

I don't want to be a minimalist

My father was a minimalist.  My mother was not.  Although very neat and clean, I never cared for the contemporary minimalist feel of my father's home, it never had the cozy warm feeling of my mother's home.  Unfortunately, I tend to take after my dad.  I do not have the knack of layering or adding several items to a table, shelf, etc.  I am very uniform and symmetrical and wish I wasn't.   I am linking up today to A Stroll Thru Life (84th Table Top Tuesday) as an attempt to come out of my box.   I hope you like my first attempt at a tablescape.  It was actually a little difficult for me.   The jar on the table was what I started with.  This has been the only thing on this table for a while.  I am so much happier with it the way it is now.

I just bought this yesterday at Gabriel Brothers.
It was a set of two but they only had one so I got a great deal.   I love it.

Have a happy Tuesday.

Front Porch All "Falled" Up

Sadly I removed the last of the summer flowers and other summer things off of my front porch and it looked so bare and lonely so I decided to add some fall to it.   It's only 49 degrees here in the panhandle of West Virginia so I didn't get as much done as I would have liked.   I think I'll finish at the end of the week when it returns to the 70s.  I've seen a couple blogs that have some lovely wreaths so I'll use those for inspiration and spend the next couple of days making one.

Hope you are having a nice Monday.
